Our fur-baby, Leo had been having a BLAST playing in the snow, so much in fact that he seems to want to go out about every 5-10min. It was also so cute to see him pouncing in the snow, but unfortunately I wasn't ever able to capture it with the camera.
Christmas 2010
We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and was able to spend quality time with their loved ones. We had a great Christmas, the boys and even our fur-babies had a great day.
Here a the pics of the boys' ginger bread house...as you can see they added the reindeer pooh...boys will be boys, lol!
Some of the treats we bought for our fur-babies, Leo and Mattie.
Kennon and Ian wrapping Leo and Mattie's gifts. It was hilarious because Leo would NOT leave the boys alone, he so badly wanted the bones right then and there, lol!
Our sad little tree with the boys' gifts, and their stockings hung with care.
Yes, we were finally able to find an Xbox Kinect, we and the boys are having so much fun playing the games... p.s we're also already very sore, lol! This is also a picture of the train set great-grandpa Bowe had bought for the boys only a few week before he had passed away. The boys love it, and I'm sure they'll cherish it for many years to come.
Our sweet fur-babies, Leo and Mattie getting their gifts
The boys having a blast with their new goodies, and Jason showing Austin how to safely use his new air soft gun, and boy was Austin surprised when he opened that gift!
This I decided to try something new...homemade cinnamon rolls, Jason said they were, "Absolutely awesome!" I also made my hash brown breakfast casserole that Jason and they boys love. Then we finished the night with a wonderful Christmas dinner.
A twist on a classic cookie recipe
This weekend I tried out a recipe I had come across...whole wheat chocolate chip cookies. I had the whole wheat flour, so I thought I'd give this recipe a try, and it honestly wasn't that bad. Due to the whole wheat flour, you don't get that "sugar rush". Here's the recipe if you'd like to try it for yourself.
Whole wheat chocolate chip cookies
Ingredients:
1C butter
1C dark brown sugar
1C sugar
2 Lg eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3C whole wheat flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soad
1 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
8 oz. chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mix in a large bowl the first 5 ingredients until just blended. Then add the remaining ingredients, except for the chocolate chips, and mix until all the ingredients are mixed well, finally mix in the chocolate chips.
Place scoops of the dough onto a greased cookie sheet, and bake for 16-20 min. Enjoy!

What a neat view
While watching the news, before getting the boys up for school, they had said you can see the planet Venus near the moon. I thought it was interesting enough to take a photo of the moon and Venus...
What Leo does when I leave the house...
A few days ago we've learned that our 4 month old St. Bernard puppy, Leo, can jump the gate to escape the laundry room where we keep him while we're out running errands, and he hadn't destroyed anything...until today.... this is part of what I came home to...
Note: all the items on the quilt in the living room were on the bookcase in the dinning room...the books were on TOP of the bookcase, and my yoga blocks were on the bottom shelf (you can see to open space). And there's the culprit...trying to play off his puppy cuteness...
First snow
Monday morning we woke up to a snow-covered yard. The boys were so excited as was our 4 month old St. Bernard puppy, Leo.
Leo eating the snow
Leo just realized I was watching him, lol!

Summer Vacation Coming to an End Soon...
Well, this has been a summer to remember... Jason's return home from his first deployment, and hopefully his last. Our trip back home to visit with family, we couldn't believe how big our nephew, Camden, had gotten, and how protective his big sister Kayleigh is of him -it was really cute! It was a joy to see and hold the newborns a few cousins had not long before we came home. I also ended up getting the Shingles, which ended up explaining why I kept getting severe headaches and my chest hurting. Then there was our truck breaking down...but luckily a friend of my brother-in-law's was able to fix it enough to get us back to our home in CO, which lasted about a week or so until it gave out again, so for now it's just sitting it our parking spot. Luckily, we had bought Jason a mustang before my truck broke down, otherwise we'd be without a vehical right now. On the 4th of July, we could see fireworks all over the place, even from other towns. Which was a welcoming surprise considering we weren't able to be with family for the holiday. And just last week it dawned on me that the boys return back to school on Aug. 12th...too soon if you ask me.
My Online Business
Sorry, I haven't posted for quite a while...I've been working on starting an online company called Simply Eco-Chic. I currently sell jewelry that I made/put together. I also accept donations of unwanted jewelry, so I can create something new that someone would enjoy...better than throwning it into the trash. My website is www.simplyecochic.net, check it out! Thanks!
My new hobby
Father's Day 2010
This was a special Father's Day for us ...considering Jason was deployed during last year's Father's Day. We grilled steaks and corn on the cob, and Mattie wouldn't leave Jason's side while he was grilling, so we figured we would let her join in on the feast by giving her a small steak, and she had it all gone in no time. I made one of Jason's favorite desserts, the cookie monster, and he was the only one to clean his plate while the rest of us probably only ate a 1/4 of ours, lol.
Colorado's Renaissance Festival
We had such a great time at the festival and we plan to attend next years event. As you can see we bought the boys shields and swords, Austin even fell asleep holding on to his, lol.
