We, like many people, love fresh produce, especially in the summertime, and here are a few of our favorites...
We LOVE garden fresh cherry tomatoes and basil, and I find myself adding these into many of our summertime dishes.
Golden Honeydew Melon, and our family LOVES these, and we find them to taste much more sweeter than the green ones, and they never last more than 30 minutes in our home, so yes, they are that good, lol!
Keeping the boys busy
This week has been a hot one for us here in Colorado, so the boys and I have been trying new recipes, and after the boys ate two big bags of potato chips in one afternoon, I decided it might be best, and cheaper, to make our own chips. The boys and Jason love hot and spicy foods, so we made spicy potato chips and they turned out pretty good for being baked in the oven.
The boys now want to make ranched flavored potato chips and I would like to try a dill flavoring, and we're also going to try frying them this time around. We'll keep you updated on the outcome! Have a great day!

Celebrating Father's Day
We had a wonderful weekend honoring Jason this Father's Day. On Saturday we grilled stakes and Jason insisted I make the homemade potato salad that he loves...it has a tangy zing to it and lots of bacon, and hung out with the Dunn Family. Jason and Mike stayed up until mid-night just hanging out by the fire pit. Then on Sunday Jason requested I make him "Oowy goowy goodness" ...homemade cinnamon rolls, lol. Jason loves tie-dyed shirts, so that was his gift this year.
For dinner I made spaetzle with kielbasa and red chard, and it was GOOD! For anyone who might not know, spaetzle is a German pasta, kielbasa is a polish sausage, and red chard is a green leafy vegetable with bright red stalks, and is in the same family as beets. Even all three of my sons really liked this dish.
In the picture you can see the red diced up vegetable that looks like tomato...it's actually the red chard stalks, and it had the texture of celery.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Father's Day as much as we did!
Ian Cooking
Today, Ian wanted to make pudding, but we only have the kind you have to cook. Since it takes a while to cook, hopefully it helped him to learn patience. And as you can see he now has his summer mohawk.
Leo's Ducky
This afternoon while I was playing fetch with Leo I happened to get his duck stuck in our ceiling fan....
And due to Leo's whining I finally had to get this ducky down for him, lol.
