Celebrating Father's Day

We had a wonderful weekend honoring Jason this Father's Day. On Saturday we grilled stakes and Jason insisted I make the homemade potato salad that he loves...it has a tangy zing to it and lots of bacon, and hung out with the Dunn Family. Jason and Mike stayed up until mid-night just hanging out by the fire pit. Then on Sunday Jason requested I make him "Oowy goowy goodness" ...homemade cinnamon rolls, lol. Jason loves tie-dyed shirts, so that was his gift this year.

For dinner I made spaetzle with kielbasa and red chard, and it was GOOD! For anyone who might not know, spaetzle is a German pasta, kielbasa is a polish sausage, and red chard is a green leafy vegetable with bright red stalks, and is in the same family as beets. Even all three of my sons really liked this dish.
In the picture you can see the red diced up vegetable that looks like tomato...it's actually the red chard stalks, and it had the texture of celery.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Father's Day as much as we did!
