Our Visit with the Peck Family

Back when I had my Childcare, I cared for sweet little Levi. He has one of those smiles that just steals your heart every time. His parents, Dave and Samantha, are such wonderful people. Since we were in their neck of the woods and we weren't going to be in town for Levi's birthday party, we went to visit him and to give him his birthday gift, a turtle sandbox, which he absolutely LOVED!

Our Day at Mueller State Park

Jason trying to get Ian to touch the fake animal scat. As we first entered the park we noticed a little pond so we decided to take a walk around it, and on our walk Jason was teaching the boys how to skip rocks on the lake.

Views from our hike as we started on our journey

In the picture above, Kennon wasn't wanting his picture taken, lol! This was our hike down the mountain.

A little lake we happened to come upon and it was a welcoming sight, and I was delightful to feel the cool breeze coming off the lake

The walk around the lake

A little waterfall we came across on our hike

Our fur-baby, Mattie

I couldn't help but to take some pictures of Mattie as she played with my grocery bags. After every picture I took, she would stop and stare at me as though she was wondering what I was doing, lol.

Our First BBQ since their return

It was great to spend time with our friends, and very much a relief that NO ONE in their MP Company was KIA, so we felt the need to celebrate! It was great to reconnect with everyone, and Jason did a darn good job on the grill, so well in fact, that after everyone took their first bite out of their burgers, they were bumping fists with Jason, lol. Raychelle even brought her little dog over in hopes that her and Mattie would have fun playing together, but Mattie wanted nothing to do with Izzy, lol. You could tell that Mattie was wondering why this other dog was in her house and eating her food. I've never seen Mattie be so excited to see her leave that night. Lol. All the children played well together, they even had a water balloon fight, which happened to last most of the day, sorry I didn't happen to get any pictures of it, I was too busy catching up with everyone, and playing games with the little ones. We even had a few teenagers over, which you could tell this was the last place they wanted to be, lol, so I brought out all of my jewelery making supplies, which let them have a better time, even some of the other moms joined in...

The day before our bbq, the crazy high winds blew over our grill...several times! And our grill isn't one of the small ones either! It's the largest charcoal grill you can buy at the store.

Jason's shirt cracks me up

Good food, great friends

The kiddos playing a video game before their water balloon fight

Ian with his hair dyed...daddy did it with washable colored hair gel, yet it didn't completely wash out of Ian's hair, lol. Oh well, he loved the attention he received.

Sgt Dunn's youngest daughter, she's so adorable! She calls her headband a wig, lol. She also had the same personality as our niece, so she really made us miss our little sugar bear, Kayleigh...

Woo-hoo!! Jason doing the dishes!! LOL!

Helen Hunt Falls

This was our first hike as a family since Jason's return, it was such a wonderful day to spend time together as a family. The boys and I have frequent the hiking trails at North Cheyenne Canyon, but this was Jason's first visit. He enjoyed it so much that we look forward to creating many more family memories there.
